This can be experienced through breathtaking astrophotos showing galaxies millions of light years away. Accompanied by harmonious sound art, we wander to celestial bodies that follow natural laws that have still not been fully explored.
For us, the most important encounter is with nature. Lingering in silence, open and receptive, everything that we are happy to pass on to you is revealed.
This takes shape in various creations and offers from the Sternwerkstatt: Lectures, star tours, infotainment shows, team spirit workshops, but also everlasting things that never fail to delight, such as pictures and books. And whatever else the universe has planned for us in the future ;-)!
Who does magic in the star workshop?
DIETMAR HAGER is a doctor and astrophotographer. He has been fascinated by the world of stars since he was a child. His astrophotos, which are taken at his own observatory, the Stargazer Observatory in the Mühlviertel, or on international soil, are in demand worldwide and are also used by NASA, the ESO and the RAS.
He played a leading role in the development of the 3D astroshow that delights visitors to the Ars Electronica Center Linz (AEC ).
For 25 years, he has shared his enthusiasm for the universe and cosmic connections with his audience in lectures, astroshows and publications.
The idea for the Sternwerkstatt was born back in 2011 and grew quietly until its birth in the summer of 2024: Dietmar Hager teamed up with his long-time friend Günther Angerer and they launched the project together. Since then, the range has been continuously expanded to do justice to the universe whose knowledge and creativity are utilized.

It is a pleasure for us to amaze people, bring them together and bring them closer to the beauty of the universe. In the Sternwerkstatt, the wonder of the cosmos comes to life – a place where knowledge, creativity and inspiration come together.
Everything that nature teaches and offers us is used methodically in the Sternwerkstatt to offer individuals, groups or teams an improvement in their status quo – to realign them with nature.
The star workshop conveys the approach of nature: including, allowing and acknowledging others. The Sternwerkstatt lives the connection to nature. The aim is for you to be able to take a pleasant experience with you into your world as soon as you leave or have to leave the star workshop.
