Opening of the Sternwerkstatt pop-up gallery

The gates to the universe open at the Linzerie on October 23

One of the aims of the Sternwerkstatt is to bring people closer to the magic of the universe. In her pop-up gallery at the Linzerie from October 23, she will be exhibiting pieces that allow you to capture the starry sky and take it home with you.

Fourteen of the best NASA award-winning astrophotographs by doctor and astrophotographer Dietmar Hager make up the majority of the exhibition. These were created in Dr. Hager’s own observatory, the Stargazer Observatory in the Mühlviertel or on international soil in 30 to 80 hours of exposure plus processing time per image and are in demand worldwide. Guests at the AEC Linz are familiar with his images from the Deep Space 3D Astroshow, in the development of which he played a leading role as curator.

The large-format pictures, on which impressive star formations can be seen, are limited, certified and available in individually produced frames, some of which are also backlit. The photographer’s motivation for this exhibition is clearly expressed: the starry canopy, which has accompanied people since the beginning and is becoming increasingly difficult to see in the night sky of big cities, should once again become part of our “everyday” surroundings as a wall decoration and inspire us.

The pop-up gallery is complemented by stellar pieces of jewelry made by goldsmith Lilli Pulkrab based on Dr. Dietmar Hager’s astrophotographs.

Other smaller objects and gift ideas that bring the infinite expanse of the cosmos closer will round off the pop-up gallery’s overall offering in future.
